Bring on the Beach!
Many people don’t know about this hidden gem. Located right outside of Ocean City-close enough to go to the boardwalk or Seacrets after your day at the beach- is this beautiful beach similar to that of Ocean City but with less people and more horses. Wild horses roam this beach so enjoy the one of a kind view but do not touch!
There are so many things to do here, it is a must-do this summer! Whether you stay a week at the Castle in the Sand or head there just for a day, be sure to take it all in. With Jetski rentals, parasailing, a 3 mile long boardwalk filled with shops, food and rides, beaches and more, you will not be bored here!
Located in Annapolis, Sandy Point State Park offers a variety of activities including a beach along the Chesapeake Bay, fishing and crabbing, camping grounds, picnic areas and many scenic and wildlife views.
Deep Creek Lake I know..I know…not a beach. But this lake in this city offers so much fun, you won’t even mind the lack of beach! This is definitely a fantastic place for a week long vacation but still worth it to go for as long as you can. Take your boat in the lake, invite the adventurous ones for some white water rafting, or choose another activity from their ginormous list of recreation here! Can’t make it there this Summer? Book one of their beautiful log cabins for the Winter and enjoy skiing, snowboarding and more at Wisp Resort!

Go See Some Live Music
One of the many things that make Maryland so great is our proximity to an abundance of concert venues, both indoors and out. Go see a headliner act at Pier Six Pavilion, The Fillmore or Merriweather Post Pavilion. Trying not to break the bank? Many spots all around Maryland offer free concerts almost weekly! Enjoy a Movie with your Kids….Outside!

Go Mini Golfing
Always a family favorite, putt putt courses are all over Maryland. They are extremely popular in Ocean City if you plan on taking a trip there! One of our personal favorites is Monster Mini Golf, a completely glow in the dark course located in Columbia. The kids will love it!
Take Me (and your family) Out to the Ballgame
Maryland is Birdland! Marylanders love supporting their favorite birds-the Ravens and the Orioles-in our local stadiums. Orioles games are occurring all summer and tickets can be as low as $7! Another option, especially great for young baseball fans, is to go to a Bowie Baysox game!
Explore Baltimore’s Inner Harbor
The Inner Harbor has so much to offer and you must spend a day exploring it. The Maryland Science Center (#13) and the National Aquarium (#12) are both located here. Ride a water taxi, take a ride on the giant ferris wheel, dine at one of these amazing restaurants, enjoy the views, the massive boats and street performers.

Visit the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore
For less than $20 a person, see a large array of animals up close. A personal favorite is the giraffe feeding station where you can hand feed the prettiest, kindest giraffes. Kids and family members of all ages will love it.
Too hot for the Zoo? Try the Aquarium!
Located at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, the aquarium is a must-see! View tons of water life animals up close and learn about the water ecosystem while having fun. Another cool feature of the aquarium is the 4D shows, so be sure to see one of those!
Maryland Science Center
This science center in Baltimore is a huge family favorite. Your kids will have the time of their lives while also learning so much with tons of hands-on exhibits and shows. Let your kid put on his white coat and experiment for an afternoon!
This is a Heaven on Earth for all kids. Let them learn while they climb, crawl and jump through obstacle course exhibits, play sport games in their stadium exhibits, solve fun mysteries and play in fun exhibit playrooms that resemble kitchens and shops. Your kids will have a blast and pass out afterwards, so you can have your fun too!
Believe It or Not – You gotta go here!
Ripley’s Believe It or Not museums are the quirkiest, coolest museums you’ll ever find. Filled with fun, interesting, and crazy finds from Ripley’s adventures all over the world as he searched for phenomenons, you won’t leave here without feeling shocked, surprised, and mind blown. There are museums located in both Baltimore and Ocean City.
For Your Amusement
Anne Arundel County Fair
This giant, fun event is held every September in Crownsville. Submit your photos in the photography contest, sell your homemade goods, pet some goats, eat some great chicken on a stick and take a ride on the Zipper. Don’t miss the duck and pig races! This fair is full of family fun and you shouldn’t miss it!
There are a few carnivals and fairs that occur around Maryland each summer. Find one in your area and have a fun night with your family and friends! Bowiefest, Summer Carnival at Port Discovery, Glen Burnie Carnival, Talbot County Fair and Caroline Summerfest are just a few! Explore more here.
Ride some Rollercoasters at Six Flags!
The popular amusement park Six Flags is located in Bowie, MD. The park is full of fun, exciting rides and smoother rides for the kiddies. During the summer, take advantage of the Six Flags Water Park to cool off!
Ocean City’s Boardwalk
As we mentioned earlier, Ocean City is a fan favorite for the hot summer months. But one of the best-and most fun-spots is the boardwalk. Filled with arcades, carnival games, and rides, the family will have a blast.
Adventure Park, USA
Located in Monrovia, MD is a park that lives up to its name! Fill your day with adventure with a day pass to this exciting place. For just $30 you can spend your whole day here riding on amusement rides, driving bumper cars, bumper boats and go-carts, playing carnival games, climbing the rock wall and ropes course, playing laser tag, and more! Explore the Great Outdoors!
This state park is one of my favorites because there’s so much to do. The park includes waterfalls, hiking trails, a small beach, kayaks and paddleboats, a playground and more.
Explore over 30 miles of the Patapsco River at this state park. Go hiking, fishing, tube floating and more here. This park is known for it’s scenery and abundance of hiking trails-over 200 miles worth.
Rock State Park
The greatest part of this park is their infamous King and Queen Seat which holds beautiful views after a decent hike. Must see, go check it out!
